Mercury-free thermometer is a safe, eco-friendly temperature-measuring device designed to replace traditional mercury-based thermometers, eliminating the risks associated with toxic mercury exposure.

Instead of mercury, these thermometers use alternative materials such as alcohol (dyed red or blue for visibility), galinstan (a non-toxic alloy of gallium, indium, and tin), or electronic sensors (like thermistors) to measure temperature. Alcohol-based versions work similarly to mercury thermometers: the liquid expands or contracts with temperature changes, moving along a calibrated glass tube to indicate readings. Electronic models, often digital, use sensors to convert temperature into an electrical signal, displaying results on a screen for quick, precise readings.
